How To Start Cleaning The Junk From Your Home

June 20th, 2010

If you are anything like me then sometimes, staying organized can seem next to impossible. You can look at a messy closet or a cluttered garage and feel overwhelmed by the job. That feeling usually leads to adding cleaning to your long-term to-do list, the one that never seems to get any attention!

The problem is that the longer you put off the job, the less likely it is that you’re going to do it. Most of us have messy areas in our homes because we’ve become complacent with our current situation and we can’t think of a way to tackle what looks like a huge job. But don’t despair!

Here are some good tips that will help you clean up and organize your home.

1) Break the job down into smaller manageable tasks

Cleaning out the garage or organizing your bedroom closet may seem like too big of a job to handle but, if you break the job up into several smaller tasks, it suddenly becomes more doable.

For example, if you have a very messy basement, one of your smaller jobs could be to clean everything off of the floor. Another small job could be to clean off one shelf every week. When you break things up into manageable chunks, the job doesn’t seem so hard.

2) Throw away your obvious garbage

In every messy room there are things that you obviously no longer need. Old magazines, clothing you never wear and broken or damaged items are perfect examples of things you should be able to get rid of without much thought. Get the easy items out of the way and your cleaning job will already look more possible.

3) Get some help

Remember that guy you helped move last month or the woman that borrowed your car and your muscles for 3 hours in January to help clean up the new years party. Call in some favors and see if you can get a bit of help. Maybe your brother owes you big-time for getting him a good job? Don’t be shy, it can sometimes make all the difference if you get a few hours of help from a friend.

Follow these simple tasks or why not get a local junk removal company to help? Even if you just need a dumpster bin rental for the really big, heavy stuff!

Material Recycling

June 10th, 2010

In a layman term, material recycling is a great way to preserve natural resources.  We conserve nature and use our God-given natural resources in an efficient and sustainable way only when we opt to recycle materials used to manufacture after use.  Those scrap metals by the mechanic shop can undergo metal recycling for the manufacturing of a brand new car. Not all materials, especially plastic materials are recyclable. Therefore, you can contribute to saving the planet by buying products made of recyclable materials.

Almost everything in your house can be recycled – the metal, plastic, electronics, glass, textiles, and paper. The process of recycling is pretty easy. First, materials are taken to the collection centres where they are sorted from other wastes such as food; and then cleaned and reprocessed into raw materials for industries. Sometimes we recycle complex products to remove just an element. For example, gold could be gotten from computer parts, and lead from car batteries.

Metal Recycling

Metal recycling is the easiest of all waste management process.  For instance, metals such as steel and iron can be separated from other wastes at a dumpsite magnetically. Such metals are then melted to their liquid form by the use of an electronic arc furnace. Aluminium can also undergo unlimited metal recycling without losing its quality. However, this time, the metal(aluminium) is reduced to pieces and grounded into what is known as bales. Now, you must have heard about aluminium smelter plants, these plants melt the bales to produce liquid-flowing aluminium. One great advantage of metal recycling as oppose to other forms of recycling is that metal recycling can be done again and again without lowering the quality of the metal as suitable raw material for manufacturing purposes. In fact, you can hardly tell the different between a recycled metal and one just gotten from its Ore.

Critics

Several negative things have been said about recycling of materials, especially recycling of metals. Not surprisingly, many of such criticisms have been coming from both the mining industry and the manufacturing industry.  As you know, the mining industry does not want to see a decline in demand or a fall in value of their ores. The manufacturing industry is simply complacent with status quo–business as usual– and do not see metal recycling as a really big deal since it does not significantly improves their profit margins.

Fact and Figure

More than 60% of rubbish that ends up at the dumpsite could be recycled. If you don’t recycle your plastic, it will take more than 500 years to decompose, and before it degrades, contributing to make the environment dirty. In addition, the use of plastic and aluminium for packaging is growing by the year, if we don’t recycle them, then it is a big waste of natural resources.

Recycling reduces wastes by lowering large scale raw material production which in turn reduces energy usage and as such lower greenhouse gas emission. The benefit of metal recycling is far-reaching. When we recycle everyone benefits. There is financial reward to both theword’s economyand private institutions. Above all, we are directly preserving the world’s natural resources for the next generation after us.

Benefits Of Knowing How To Build A Wind Turbine

February 15th, 2010

The recent economic crisis creates a major problem for us who only has meager incomes – incomes that are enough to generate enough budget for food, clothing and shelter. However, there are times when we would want our families to enjoy more than just the basic necessities in life. We also wanted our family members to live a kind of lifestyle that would make them remember their whole lives. Earth has just all the resources present that we could utilize for free. With just the right equipment and devices, we would be able to harness all these free energy that nature provides.

Homemade wind turbines work just like professional turbines. And the great thing about having to create your own windmill is that you could actually save a lot of dollars from your electrical bills. Renewable resource is definitely the answer to our rising economic problems these days. With the abundance of wind power, we just need to create the right medium for harnessing such powerful energy to generate free electricity right at our very homes.

There are many sites online that could teach you how to build a windmill and you have to choose one that would teach you how to save much from the materials being used. In order to get your very own homemade free energy, this article is set to teach you the simple steps on how to build a wind turbine that is just like those made by professionals. First, you need to build the magnet disks followed by the coil disk. Cut the 12 inch hydro disk with a template for mounting the magnets. Then cover with resin and hardener. Once done, build the coil disk. After that, make the bearing assembly and finally construct the blades. When its all made, bolt it all together and you now have your own wind turbine. The magnet is needed to spin the turbine.

There is this other site that I found that teaches how to better make windmills as well. What the author actually did was to compile all the information he gathered from all the other different sites. Afterwhich, he divided it into 5 different major systems: (1) generator-building, (2) blades creation, (3) creation of the mount to keep the turbine turned to the wind, (4) tower creation to reach the wind, and (5) batteries and an electronic control system.

Magnets would work well as generators. There are good brands and models of permanent magnet DC motors that could perform as generators but weren’t designed as such.

In addition, do make sure that you follow safety guidelines
Doing the necessary techniques on how to build a wind turbine will enable you to finally help your family from the financial burden. You will also enjoy your free electricity so much that you would probably make more than one wind turbine. You will then perhaps teach your friends on how to build a windmill so that they too could benefit from free energy.
